Shan Y. Chuang (she/her) / Vocal Technique & Advanced Dance

Shan Y. Chuang is an accomplished actor, singer, dancer, choreographer and pianist who was born and raised in Taiwan. She holds an MFA in Musical Theater from one of the top universities in Taiwan, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), a BA in classical voice from the University of Taipei, specializing in Music Education, and she is a graduate of Circle in the Square Theatre School (Professional Musical Theatre Workshop ’14).

Acting credits include Caligula, Liminal Archive, The Surrogate, Behind the Mask, Once Upon A Mattress, Anything Goes, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Comfort Women: A New Musical, and Monkey King: A Musical (reading).

Choreography and Dance credits include 10 Years in the Making, 10 Years of Me; Untitled Girl Narrative and I Could Never Love Anyone…with Katharine Pettit Creative; Soul of the Sea, Unseen and Freaks Don’t Cry with LINKED Dance Theatre; Choreography Lab, and Reminiscing Taiwan: A Mini Musical, etc.

Shan is currently teaching Singing Technique and Advanced Dance Class at Circle in the Square Theatre School and vocal and piano at Church Street School Music & Art. She is also a frequent collaborator with Katharine Pettit Creative, NYC Queer Playback Theater, Al Límite, and an active member of the National Asian Artists Project Chorus (NAAP).
