Connor Coughlin was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and is a professional actor, singer, and dancer. Connor trained in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s Professional Division and received a diploma upon graduation. At the ballet Connor studied under Roman Rykine (Principal Dancer with English National Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Boston Ballet), and Jorden Morris (Artistic Director/Chief Ballet Master of Boston Ballet, choreographer of Peter Pan and Moulin Rouge the Ballet). Post-graduation Connor attended Circle in the Square TheatreSchool whose alumni include Academy Award Winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, GrammyAward and Academy Award Winner Lady Gaga, and Academy Award Winner Viola Davis. Connor’s teachers included Tony Award Winner B.H. Barry (Royal Shakespeare Company), TonyAward Winner Joanna Gleason (Boogie Nights, Crimes and Misdemeanors), and Edward Berkeley (Director of Undergraduate Opera Studies at The Julliard School, guest professor at Princeton University). Connor also studied dance at Luigi’s Jazz Center with Luigi and Francis J. Roach whose students have included Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award Winner Liza Minnelli, Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient Alvin Ailey, and Grammy Award WinnerMadonna. Connor has participated in many workshops with Broadway Casting Director Duncan Stewart (Chicago, Hadestown, and Pippin).
Connor’s professional highlights include performing in two seasons of the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall (Produced by the Madison Square Garden Company). Connor starred as Billy Lawlor in Big League Productions 2016-17 National tour of 42nd Street (Directed by 2001 Broadway Revival Director Mark Bramble and choreographed by 2001 Broadway Revival Choreographer Randy Skinner). Connor played the lead role of Cosmo Brown (Made famous by Donald O’Connor) for over 25 performances in Theatre by the Sea’s production of Singin’ in the Rain, directed and choreographed by Kelli Barclay (Broadway’s 42nd Street, and White Christmas). Connor was also a featured dancer in NETworks Presentations 2017 National Tour of Elf, choreographed by Connor Gallagher (Broadway’s Beetlejuice). Connor has worked with choreographer Josh Prince (Broadway’s Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, and Shrek the Musical) at the Fire Island Dance Festival, and in Broadway Dance Lab, where Connor also worked with World Dance Award Winner John Carrafa. Connor was featured as Morris Delancey/Henry in the Fireside Theatre’s production of Disney’s Newsies, choreographed by Shanna VanDerwerker (Broadway’s Wicked, and Amazing Grace).
